Spiritual Gifts:

"Let's talk about Spiritual Gifts & heed a warning from Paul the Apostle."

Scripture references:
1 Corinthians 12, 13 & Bonus verses from (the Fruit of the Spirit) Galatians 5.

This series on Spiritual Gifts is based on my own personal interpretation of Scripture. I encourage you to also share your faith and what God has shown you in the Scriptures as well.


Do not be ignorant.

2 Cor 12:1 "Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, 
I do not want you to be uninformed."

"Many people (even Christians) are ignorant about spiritual gifts."

2 Cor 12:18 "But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be."

"We should not IGNORE or OVER-EMPHASIZE any of the gifts."
 (One should not be treated as more important than the others.)

2 Cor. 12:13 "For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body..."


Spiritual Gifts are different from Natural Talents.

2 Cor 12:4 "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord."

A Spiritual Gift is "an anointing (or gifting) from God given to us after the New Birth (in Christ).

2 Cor 12:11 "But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills."

Spiritual gifts can come in "any combination"  as the Spirit wills and sometimes in clusters of several gifts together.

Natural Talents are "created blessings" (in our DNA from God) given (or inherited) at our first birth.

"Nurture the Gift. Worship the Gift-Giver."


Bonus: The 9 Fruits of the Holy Spirit in Galatians 5 seem parallel to the specific list 9 of the gifts shown in 2 Corinthians 12.
