Truth vs. Tradition

Gifts vs. Titles

Luke says that Jesus went about Preaching the Gospel and Teaching in the synagogues and the Temple.

Luke 4:17 ..."the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written: 18“The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed, 19to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”…

Preach    + Teach   + Prophecy
Proclaim - Explain  - Deliver (a message)
Declare    - Dissect - Decree

To Preach is to also Proclaim & Declare the Truth.
To Teach is to also Explain & Dissect a Truth.
To Prophecy is to Deliver a revealing message from God & issue a Decree from on High.

Preaching: Declaring His Word with "boldness" & Calling people to repentance.

Eph 6:19 Paul says... "and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with BOLDNESS the mystery of the gospel..."

Examples:
Preach = Preaching the Truth with a sense of urgency.
Teach = Teaching a Truth with understanding.

2 Timothy 2:15
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth."
KJV - "rightly dividing the word of truth."

Isaiah 11:2
"The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD."

Spiritual Gifts Overview:
Preach-ing the Word of God
Teach-ing the Word of God
Prophesy-ing a word From God
Pastoring: Caring for the people of God
Evangelist: Converting people to God (with the help of the Holy Spirit)
Worker of Miracles: Doing the works of God (with God's Power and Approval)

In Matt 20:25 Jesus tells His disciples yo NOT misuse their new authority in Him.

Bonus verse:

2 Peter 2:5 [God] "...preserved Noah, a PREACHER of righteousness..."
